Richard was asked to be on the first Practitioner Council for the Nelson Nash Institute. This position along with his fellow practitioners supports and advises the NNI board of directors on initiatives and the direction for the NNI to support Nelson Nash’s concept well into the future. Richard has presented at the Annual Think Tank Conference on numerous occasions and has been the emcee for the event twice.

Richard Canfield grew up in the small farming community of Hay Lakes, Alberta, near Edmonton. Learning important and often difficult lessons about being in business at an early age, Richard and the Canfield family owned and operated a small service business. It was a growing business with, as you can imagine, a wide variety of challenges. These lessons served to make Richard stronger and position him with the character and fortitude to forge his way into business on his own in his early 20′s.

After working diligently to become a journeyman electrician and foreman managing large crews in Edmonton and Fort McMurray, he knew it was time to focus on his passion. In 1999 being gifted a copy of the book Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki, Richard was awakened to a world of finance, investing and business. Actively expanding his knowledge and context over the next ten years of his life, he knew it was time to share the incredible strategies that he had learned with others.

It was shortly after retiring his toolbox in 2008 that Richard was introduced to the Powerful Infinite Banking concept in the summer of 2009. After reading Nelson Nash’s Bestselling book “Becoming Your Own Banker,” Richard found it very difficult to sleep. After all his research and tens of thousands of dollars of education in financial strategies, vehicles and concepts…nothing had ever resonated with him like Infinite Banking. It was this realization that made Richard choose to help Canadian families and business owners discover exactly how The Infinite Banking Concept works and how they can solve the banking equation in their lives.

With an extensive background in Real Estate, both as a formally licensed REALTOR and a Real Estate investor himself, Richard brings unique knowledge and creativity to his clients’ lives. This approach of bridging the Real Estate world and the world of Infinite Banking together has proved to be a powerful combination that enhances savings, wealth and control.

Richard now lives his passion for educating and empowering Canadians to take control of their financial future.

He is eternally grateful and blessed for the time he spent with R. Nelson Nash. His mentorship and friendship were life-changing for Richard and his family. He now seeks to honor Nelson’s legacy by helping the Nelson Nash Institute build the 10% movement and creating a community of privatized bankers who can secede one piece at a time from the current monetary system. So much so that our first book and subsequent books in the Wealth Without Bay Street Book Series are dedicated to Nelson Nash.

Together with his colleague and friend Jayson Lowe the Podcast Wealth Without Bay Street was launched in 2020 to give North Americans a learning platform to understand how they can create dependable wealth. New content is uploaded weekly to keep the community of Infinite Bankers informed and, as Nelson Nash would say, “thinking about their thinking”.
