I didn't discover Infinite Banking through a sales pitch — I discovered it in my own policies. I'd been buying whole life insurance for decades, some of those policies over 40 years old, and along the way I'd borrowed against them to build a cottage, buy a car, and invest in real estate. I always thought of that as a default strategy, not a deliberate one. Then, three years ago, I read Nelson Nash's Becoming Your Own Banker and realized I'd been practicing a version of Infinite Banking the whole time — just without the deliberate structure. Like most people, my one regret is not acquiring more policies, with higher premiums, sooner. In the last two years since, I've added four more whole life policies to my own banking system. It's never too late to start doing this properly.

That experience is what led me to become an Authorized IBC Practitioner, and it shapes how I work with clients today. With over 40 years in financial services, I help business owners, real estate investors, and successful families build wealth and plan for retirement and estate transition — holding the CFP, CLU, and CH.F.C. designations along the way. Infinite Banking using whole life insurance is an important component of that broader planning work, not a stand-alone strategy.

A core part of my practice now is showing business owners and real estate investors — many of them connections through the Keyspire investor network — how a properly structured, dividend-paying whole life policy can put them in control of their own banking function, the way Nelson intended.

I also served two terms as Mayor of Burlington, Ontario, from 2010 to 2018 — an experience that enhanced my ability to listen, build trust, and make decisions for the long run, the same things I bring to every client relationship today.

At home, I'm a husband, father to a combined seven daughters, and grandfather to six grandchildren. When I'm not with family, I enjoy attending live sporting events including CFL Football, motorsports, hockey and basketball.
