Meet Michael Kirkpatrick

With more than 24 years of experience in the financial services industry, Michael helps business owners and families uncover money they’re unknowingly and unnecessarily losing, then redirect that “found money” to build and protect a resilient wealth system for generations.

His philosophy is simple, protect the tree, live off the fruit.

Your wealth (the tree) should continue to grow and produce fruit (income and opportunity) for years to come. Michael’s mission is to help clients build wealth without worry, stop hidden financial leaks, and live a peaceful, stress-free financial life.

Backed by RBC Dominion Securities’ resources and a network of specialized experts, Michael and his team provide clear advice, a personalized approach, and disciplined, tax-efficient strategies that help clients retain more of what they earn and achieve greater control, liquidity, and certainty in their financial lives.

Michael is a member of Family Enterprise Canada, the Capital Angel Network in the Ottawa-Gatineau region, the Ottawa Estate Planning Council, and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Born and raised in Ottawa, Michael earned a Bachelor of Science from Carleton University, majoring in biology and minoring in business. He holds several professional designations, including Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), Canadian Investment Manager (CIM®), Family Enterprise Advisor (FEA), Financial Management Advisor (FMA), and Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP).

Michael enjoys reading authors such as Ken Follet, Tony Robbins, Malcolm Gladwell and Nassim Taleb.  He also stays active through CrossFit and pickleball, and loves spending time outdoors with his three daughters, Heidi, Martina, and Farrah, in Stittsville, Ontario.

“There’s more opportunity in avoiding losses than in chasing gains. Protecting what grows creates lasting value that compounds across seasons and generations.”
