Steve Haroldson Minnich, MAEd, Retirement Income Specialist
An Authorized Infinite Banking Practitioner in Newport,
Steve Haroldson Minnich is the founder and president of TrueWealth Financial and is the host of the TrueWealth Podcast. He is also an author, seminar speaker, teacher, professional musician, chaplain with Gideons International, and a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
In 2001, Steve’s 27-year career as a music educator took an unexpected turn. A partial hearing loss forced him to move out of music instruction and into teaching business math and personal finance. In preparing for this change in his teaching assignment, Steve began reading current literature. Nelson Nash’s first book: “Becoming Your Own Banker: Unlock the Infinite Banking Concept” fascinated Steve.
Like most of his colleagues, Steve had invested his retirement savings in a 403(b). He owned a tax-sheltered annuity and had also contributed to the state retirement fund (well beyond the amount his school matched). Steve’s retirement plan was heading down the wrong road. He had one foot on the gas pedal and one foot on the brake. What a wake-up call to be suddenly faced with the truth that he was planning Uncle Sam’s retirement and not his own.
Although he could have easily dismissed these revolutionary and creative concepts and remained stuck in the same-old-same-old for the next decade, Steve decided to take early retirement from public school teaching and enter the world of personal finance full time. He obtained his insurance license, established strategic alliances, and began studying to become an Infinite Banking Practitioner (this elite group represents less than 2% of all insurance agents in Canada and the USA).
Steve calls himself a consumer advocate and remains an educator. He has a passion for giving his clients the very best financial tools for retirement even though he could choose products that would pay the agent a higher commission. He is first and foremost a teacher of TrueWealth Cash Flow Strategies™ and lives the principles that he teaches. His clients love the careful attention to detail that he gives them in every step of the TrueWealth Building process.
Steve has also referred to himself as a “financial plumber.” He finds leaks in your financial system, replaces the poorly performing “pipes,” and installs new streams of passive retirement cash flow. “I’m delighted when I’m able to update your financial plumbing. So many people have investment strategies that may not be efficient. Too many individuals and businesses are losing significant savings with leaks from taxes and fees.”
One of the rewards of this career change has been time freedom. Steve loves the quality of life that the success of his work as a TrueWealth agent affords him. Spending time with his two adult children, their spouses, and his five granddaughters and one grandson are some of his greatest joys second only to the quality time he spends with his wife of 44 years and their third child (now 21 years old). He says, “Having a child in our mid to late 40s was an awesome blessing. I now focus the majority of my time on those relationships that are of true eternal worth. Life is good!”
In addition to hosting the TrueWealth Podcast, Steve is a skilled seminar presenter at the Baby Boomer Boot Camp workshops held frequently at either Spokane Community College in Washington or the North Idaho Community College in Coeur d’Alene, ID. He loves to see the light go on in the minds of his adult “students.” He is also an author and inventor with many articles in print, podcasts, Vlogs and Blogs, and several added-value, patent-pending innovations in the works.
Steve’s latest book – “Building a Solid Foundation for TrueWealth – Your Blueprint for Success” is now in final line edit and will be published soon. An e-book is available by simply requesting the book at [email protected]
